• CORA'S CUPBOARD

Our food pantry supports 30-35 local families each week through the distribution of food and basic essentials. This program was established in 1987 as a parting gift from Cora Mayo.

We provide canned and dried goods, paper products, cleaning supplies and hygiene items. We  supply milk, cheese, eggs, and margarine. In the freezer we try to have a choice between hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken, sausage, meatballs etc.  Twice a month  we receive deliveries from Greater Boston Food Bank. Each week we get  fresh fruits and produce that is given out with every order.

All Orleans residents can use Cora's Cupboard. No appointment is needed. A volunteer will quickly register you and give you a grocery list while you remain in your car. Your order will be filled and placed in your car. We encourage everyone to use the pantry to help save their money to  pay other bills.

Food Pantry is open every Tuesday from 10am-12pm.

  • MEALS ON WHEELS

Meals on Wheels, a program of Elder Services of Cape Cod and Islands, is hosted in our church kitchen.

On Monday-Friday of each week, volunteers distribute prepared meals to participants.

A cadre of 20-30 volunteers deliver a complete meal, including milk, to 60-70 individuals or families/per day.

    For more information email info@escci.org.

  • FOODS TO ENCOURAGE

The Foods to Encourage program is usually held on the second Tuesday of the month. This is the program where a nurse is available to take blood pressure, test sugar levels and answer questions related to both. A nutritionist provides a sample recipe for you to try and also provides the ingredients you need to make the recipe, plus extra fresh produce.

  • OTHER MINISTRIES

This past year we supported financially Native American initiatives - local and national -, UMCOR - the Methodist relief agency, NAMI, We Can, Capabilities, Housing Assistance Corporation, and Habitat. We also have several members who are faithful volunteers at LCOC.
