enrichment experiences

Please note that our meeting time has changed to better accommodate the choir’s new rehearsal schedule—and to give us more space for deeper conversation and reflection.

We’ll now gather in the Library at 9:30 AM, explore the day’s topic until about 10:20, then share a thoughtful discussion before enjoying coffee, tea, and hospitality  ahead of worship.

This fall’s Enrichment Series will continue to inspire and challenge us, with upcoming topics including a survey of Christian approaches to human sexuality, a deep dive into Handel’s Messiah, an exploration of Christmas traditions, and more!

Enrichment Series news

Our next series begins on November 9 and concludes on November 23. We will explore remarkable Christian communities whose life and work connect faith with the arts, spiritual practices, and social justice. Over three weeks, we will learn about the inspiring ministries of groups such as the Iona Community in Scotland, the Taizé Community in France, and the Church of the Saviour in Washington, D.C., with occasional side excursions to other intentional communities.

Our four-week Advent series will prepare us for the birth of Jesus through an immersion into Handel’s Messiah. We will explore the origin of the composition, the biblical texts that inspired its lyrics, the role this masterpiece has played throughout history, and its significance for us today. And of course, we will listen to some extraordinary performances along the way.

All sessions will be led by The Rev. Dr. Diane Lobody.
